We were recently invited to a little cabin up near the resort of Tamarack to take some family pictures. The little cabin is bigger than most people’s homes, and was the nicest home I’ve ever been in, hands down. I was absolutely amazed at how well the cabin was designed, built, and furnished. And it’s even more amazing when you realize that it was designed and built by the owners. I was too slack-jawed to think about getting any shots of the house to show off here, but many of the pictures were taken indoors, so you can catch some of the cabin in the backgrounds of those shots. Here’s a picture of George, the madman behind the cabin’s design and construction.

This is his lovely wife, Susan.

And here is the whole family.

The girls tell me that they all got to have input into the design and furnishing of the cabin, so it was a really great family project.

I’m not sure I know of any other family where everyone will be laughing practically the entire time.

It was a great idea to use this old car in the pictures. It has a lot of character, and somehow it seems to match that of your family.

Although I don’t know the history of that car, it almost seemed like it was a part of the family, too.

There were 46 of you, if I counted correctly.

Each family was beautiful.

And with the laughter, and the open hearts, and the good natured relaxed attitudes you had…

we felt, after just a few short hours with you, as if we too were a part of the Wasden clan.

Von, you are affable, outgoing, and a pleasure to work with. Next time we are looking to buy a car, John is going to have a little competition.

During the session, you were a great sport and did everything we asked of you, even when you were scratching your head wondering why.

Your family was a joy.

Your daughters are so beautiful and talented it’s no wonder Alberto couldn’t keep from smiling.

We had a few crazy ideas, and you were always willing to give them a try.

Your girls have been growing so quickly.

It was a blast to work with them. They are so sweet. We can tell why you love them so much.

You two are lucky to have such tender daughters to cherish.

Enjoy these moments while they last. The next one along is sure to rock the boat a little.

Amber, you are gracious, kind, and caring. Your beauty shines through in your every action. Give a hug to your children for us.

Melissa, you have a flair for fashion and you’re a natural in front of the lens.

Thanks for letting us share in the growth of your family. Your “little” children are taller than you are now.

These days won’t last forever. We’re glad to see that you are enjoying them. Living, loving, and laughing. You’ve got it figured out.

I love it when I press the shutter and know instantly that I have a winner.

Jill and I had a senior portrait session with Brett last night. We first headed downtown and got some decent shots in the older section of town. He seemed a bit nervous in front of the camera, as most of us are. That’s why it’s so great to have Jill along. She makes the sessions a lot of fun and helps everyone relax and have a great time. Here is just one of the many great shots we were able to get.

We were pretty happy as we reviewed the pictures we had while heading out to the golf course, but we had no idea how good things were about to get. The sky had been overcast for much of the day, which we love; it provides some great, even lighting for portraits. There were a few breaks in the clouds and the evening sun lit the sky and clouds beautifully. We knew we’d have just a few moments to get those pictures with that kind of lighting.

When we took this one, we immediately knew it was going to be a winner. It came up on the screen looking like a cover to Golf Magazine.

We’re a bit behind right now with everything that’s been happening, so it’ll take a while for us to get all the proofs posted, but this was just so much fun that I wanted to put this preview up as soon as possible.
